Canfield Fair

Canfield Fair- hometown My happy place is always Youngstown. This year I got to share some of the happiness with my hubby. First thing I learned was that parking is free! All my life we parked at the same house and paid. This year we drove in and just parked! We started by the animals which was the opposite of anything that I've ever done. The fair is the third largest in the state and Ronnie was impressed and loved the animals. Unfortunately, this had to be one of the hottest days of the year. We walked through the animal barns to get relief from the heat. But I had one thing on my mind....cheese on a stick! In order to find the cheesy goodness that I was looking for we had the first find Ricci's kwikis. This was a play started by my grandma and grandfather. It is housed in a cute trailer that says dog house on it. My grandfather had designed it. By the time I was born they had already sold the business, but we still would go there every year to get a fresh kwik...

New restaurant- soft opening

Ronnie and I were blessed to be invited to the soft opening of a new Concept restaurant in Rocky River called Polpetta. Basically you pick your type of meatball, sauce, and accompaniment. They have a variety of choices in each category. They also have a section of their favorite combinations. Ronnie and I chose our own route. He picked sausage and pepper meatballs with ...

New blog, new adventures!

My last blog- Frugally Living- was all about my 20ths and 30ths and trying to live on a budget and enjoy Cleveland and great local food.  Now that I have been married for almost 3 years I wanted to start writing a blog about our adventures in Cleveland together!  So I will not just write about food but experiences in Cleveland as well!  This blog is also not going to always be frugal.  I have come to love Cleveland as my hometown.  There is so much to do and I hate hearing people bad mouth the city and Northeast Ohio in general.  There are so many fabulous things and I hope through our adventures I can spread those awesome things with others! So a bit of the basics...I am Alicia, I am in my forties, and I love food!  I am a human resource director for a great non-profit health organization and I love my job and the people I work with every day.  I am also an attorney, but hated practicing law so here I am in my career!  In October of 20...
