VEGAS BABY!

In February we made a trip down to Vegas to visit his uncle and check out some cool sites etc.  We stayed just off the strip at Palace Station.  It was a great deal, they had a bus that took multiple trips to the strip each day, and the machines paid out better.  We had a great time visiting with his family and getting to see some awesome things.

First highlight of the trip- Battista's Hole in the wall Italian Restaurant.  usually I hate eating Italian out, but this was recommend by an Italian Friend from Youngstown who lives in Vegas.  It was really cute inside.  totally old school Italian American with a guy walking around playing the accordion.  The food was great, portions way to big.  All meals come with unlimited homemade wine, salad or soup, entrĂ©e and cappuccino.  You do need ot make reservations they fill up fast!

I had swordfish with capers, olives, lemon over pasta.

Ronnie has the steak piazziolowith a side of pasta.  (You can see his glass of homemade wine in the picture)

Another great activity is a ride on the High roller Wheel.  You can find great deals for tickets, I do not recommend the car that includes alcohol, you can purchase a drink at a reasonable price right before getting on the ride and one drink is perfect for the trip around.  We finished it off with a cupcake from Sprinkles!

We also check out Madam Tussauds. Ronnie got a picture with Tiger Woods, we got to hang out with some awesome celebrities, and party with the Hangover people.  Again, no need to do the "Hangover" tour.  For the money you can go the short amount of time without a drink while walking through the museum.  If you have a large group with you, then it would probably be fun but not necessary.  We also got to see a really cool interactive 4-D Superhero short.

With his uncle we got to see some cool smaller Casinos that are where more of the locals go.  One had an airstream bowling alley.

Our last day we went to Old Vegas.  We started at the MOB Museum.  It was a really cool piece of history especially being from Youngstown and Cleveland.

We then went to Fremont street where we walked around, zip lines, hung out in the old school Casinos!  best part of the trip was ending it at his uncle's house for steaks on the grill before boarding our flight home.

Bologna Day3- day trip to Modena

We started off the day sort of late.  Decided to do a day trip to Modena, round trip was under 17 euros total for us both.  We walked to the train station which is literally like 5 minutes from our hotel grabbed a cappuccino water and apricot filled croissant and off we went.  We arrive in Modena less than a half hour later.   look at the pretty streets of Modena Another day another piazza! But we were in Modena and I was in search of balsamic...a tasting a something.  The first store I went in to had very, very high end balsamic you could do a tasting for a price and the cheapest bottle started at 60 Euro.  This was not our balsamic market.  This was a little above where we wanted to buy and we have tasted the really expensive stuff before.  But then we found a reasonable store.  Giuseppe Giusti offers free tastings of their balsamic at all different levels and their vermouth.  It was all fantastic.  We decided on some i...

YY Time with Y-town Friends

This new place is Asian town was a fantastic experience with some wonderful friends.  Ronnie and I got a call dear old friends John, Dave and Dana- from Youngstown and now living in Cleveland- to meet for lunch at a new place called YY Time.  This restaurant is a cool new concept in Asia Town.  You sit and order through a QR code.  Each seat has its own code.  They have street food, skewers, Asian soups, bubble teas and milks so many great choices.  We each ordered an then shared as we love to do.  I cannot wait to return!  Here are the great items we tried that day.   Salty crispy chicken and a fruit bubble tea Rice Noodle soup with braised brisket and one of the specialty crossing the bridge soups.  The noodle soup was amazing.  The flavor of all the broths were just amazing.  My husband and I split ours and It is definitely big enough to split.  And then we all tried a little bit of each others to just have a taste...

GIrls Trip- Alaska

I know know, this blog is all about the fun stuff I do with my husband, but this one blog post is going to be about an adventure I had with the one person I have known the longest in my life- my sister! The trip started with Angela texting one day asking if I wanted to see the Aurora Borealis....I thought sure why not.  And then we booked a trip and here we are. As we were planning I remembered an old friend from my semester at American lives in Fairbanks so I reached out to him for suggestions.  He offered some great ideas on places to go, things to do, and places to eat. Sadly we will not be able to see him and his wife, because they leave for vacation right after we got in town.   So the adventure for me started with a 7:50 text that my flight changed and a rerouting.  I left Cleveland at 1:40 pm and met up with my sister in Seattle at around 7 pacific time for a quick dinner before we parted ways for our flights to Fairbanks (different airlines).  ...
