Overnight in Aurora

Looking for a fun overnight stay close to home? Check out the Bertram Inn located in Aurora. We had won an over night stay with dinner for 2 and $30 to use at a restaurant from a fundraiser....and what a great deal! 
We arrived on September 7th. The lobby is beautiful and the staff welcomed us.  We had reservations that might at the Leopard Restaurant. It is an AAA four diamond restaurant. Sadly, we were the only ones dining there, but it was cool to feel like you had an entire restaurant to yourself. They served an amusement bouche to start and our steaks were cooked perfectly.
After dinner we got changed and went to the pool. Again it was like a private get away, we were the only ones there. It was a warm September night with our drinks in the pool.  We then decided to explore the other restaurant/bar Paws. The place was packed. We sat at the bar and had a great conversation with the bartender.
We decided to explore further and took our drinks in to the game room where I beat my husband in air hockey! We got another drink and headed back to our room. It was a jam packed night with something for everyone.
The rooms were comfortable, clean, and we'll appointed. In the morning we had breakfast at Paws. Food was good and with out $30 voucher it was also free! Unfortunately, it was pouring down rain all day and we did not get to explore Aurora. But as a short overnights, I would recommend it to anyone!

Bologna Day3- day trip to Modena

 We started off the day sort of late.  Decided to do a day trip to Modena, round trip was under 17 euros total for us both.  We walked to the train station which is literally like 5 minutes from our hotel grabbed a cappuccino water and apricot filled croissant and off we went.  We arrive in Modena less than a half hour later.   look at the pretty streets of Modena Another day another piazza! YY Time with Y-town Friends

This new place is Asian town was a fantastic experience with some wonderful friends.  Ronnie and I got a call dear old friends John, Dave and Dana- from Youngstown and now living in Cleveland- to meet for lunch at a new place called YY Time.  This restaurant is a cool new concept in Asia Town.  You sit and order through a QR code.  Each seat has its own code.  They have street food, skewers, Asian soups, bubble teas and milks so many great choices.  We each ordered an then shared as we love to do.  I cannot wait to return!  Here are the great items we tried that day.   Salty crispy chicken and a fruit bubble tea Rice Noodle soup with braised brisket and one of the specialty crossing the bridge soups.  The noodle soup was amazing.  The flavor of all the broths were just amazing.  My husband and I split ours and It is definitely big enough to split.  And then we all tried a little bit of each others to just have a taste...

GIrls Trip- Alaska

I know know, this blog is all about the fun stuff I do with my husband, but this one blog post is going to be about an adventure I had with the one person I have known the longest in my life- my sister! The trip started with Angela texting one day asking if I wanted to see the Aurora Borealis....I thought sure why not.  And then we booked a trip and here we are. As we were planning I remembered an old friend from my semester at American lives in Fairbanks so I reached out to him for suggestions.  He offered some great ideas on places to go, things to do, and places to eat. Sadly we will not be able to see him and his wife, because they leave for vacation right after we got in town.   So the adventure for me started with a 7:50 text that my flight changed and a rerouting.  I left Cleveland at 1:40 pm and met up with my sister in Seattle at around 7 pacific time for a quick dinner before we parted ways for our flights to Fairbanks (different airlines).  ...
