Back to the US and our drive home

 We now have to leave the happiest place on earth (for us).  We were picked up in the morning for our flight to Rome.  Poppy is an awesome driver.  He told us stories, he was so much fun  Well worth the money.  We got the airport in plenty of time.  Spent the rest of our Euros on duty free items and gifts.  And had our worst meal ever in Italy.  :-(.This is the only picture from Italy where I am not smiling. 

We then were off for Toronto.  Landed in Toronto, went to the hotel, which had no food, but let had free snacks and went to bed.  We were still on Italian time.  So we were up early.  We checked out and decided to drive to Niagara Falls on the Canadian side.  It was gorgeous but disappointingly, nothing was really open.  




After we left the falls, we went to the Fallsview Casino.  With our rewards card and the free money we got for being new members, I won the equivalent of $80 US.  Woohoo!  That paid for our tolls and gas back as well as our breakfast.  We ended up stopping at a Denny's in Buffalo.  It was a let down from all the amazing food we had just had.  But I would not have had this trip any other way.  It was a trip of a lifetime.  I loved every second of it and cannot wait to go back again and experience another area.  

People think I am joking when I say I want to move there.  But I really do want to spend about half of the year there and just enjoy life the Italian way.  Enjoy the food, the pace, and everything else.  I cannot wait for the next trip.

Bologna Day3- day trip to Modena

 We started off the day sort of late.  Decided to do a day trip to Modena, round trip was under 17 euros total for us both.  We walked to the train station which is literally like 5 minutes from our hotel grabbed a cappuccino water and apricot filled croissant and off we went.  We arrive in Modena less than a half hour later.   look at the pretty streets of Modena Another day another piazza! YY Time with Y-town Friends

This new place is Asian town was a fantastic experience with some wonderful friends.  Ronnie and I got a call dear old friends John, Dave and Dana- from Youngstown and now living in Cleveland- to meet for lunch at a new place called YY Time.  This restaurant is a cool new concept in Asia Town.  You sit and order through a QR code.  Each seat has its own code.  They have street food, skewers, Asian soups, bubble teas and milks so many great choices.  We each ordered an then shared as we love to do.  I cannot wait to return!  Here are the great items we tried that day.   Salty crispy chicken and a fruit bubble tea Rice Noodle soup with braised brisket and one of the specialty crossing the bridge soups.  The noodle soup was amazing.  The flavor of all the broths were just amazing.  My husband and I split ours and It is definitely big enough to split.  And then we all tried a little bit of each others to just have a taste...

GIrls Trip- Alaska

I know know, this blog is all about the fun stuff I do with my husband, but this one blog post is going to be about an adventure I had with the one person I have known the longest in my life- my sister! The trip started with Angela texting one day asking if I wanted to see the Aurora Borealis....I thought sure why not.  And then we booked a trip and here we are. As we were planning I remembered an old friend from my semester at American lives in Fairbanks so I reached out to him for suggestions.  He offered some great ideas on places to go, things to do, and places to eat. Sadly we will not be able to see him and his wife, because they leave for vacation right after we got in town.   So the adventure for me started with a 7:50 text that my flight changed and a rerouting.  I left Cleveland at 1:40 pm and met up with my sister in Seattle at around 7 pacific time for a quick dinner before we parted ways for our flights to Fairbanks (different airlines).  ...
