We are Off and Day one in Firenze

So our long awaited trip...2 years in the making to Italy....finally begins.  This is the first post of my blogs about our trip. I will try to do a daily blog for each day.  This was the most amazing trip I have ever been on in my life.  There is absolutely no where that I have travelled before that I felt this comfortable and happy and relaxed and blessed.  From the moment we set out until the moment we got back to our home there was nothing I would change.   So let's begin the journey! We left for Toronto on the 19th.  The drive was amazing.  When we searched for ticket we found that it was literally half price for us to fly out of Toronto to Rome then anywhere else.  So even adding in gas, tolls and parking for the 2 weeks it was still so much cheaper.  It was also a direct flight.   Getting the the airport was so easy and they are so nice in Toronto.  I wish traveling was always as easy as it was out of Canada....

wing week with the hubby

Ronnie and I LOVE wings! Ronnie only really eats garlic parm. I will eat different flavor but prefer something spicy! We wanted to do 8 places, but time got away from us. Here are the highlights from our wing week! 1. Rowley Inn. If you haven't been here you need to check it out. Cool vibes great food and drinks and Monday is all night happy hour. We each got an order of wings, onion soup and poutine! I also had a Pink Nightmare (the drink was amazing).  This poutine was amazing. The gravy was really good and the fried cooked perfectly! this was a peach bourbon sauce. It had spice but was not overly sweet.  Ronnies favorite- lots of cheese not a ton of garlic. Very good. The next place we tried was Ninja Kitchen. I got and order of gochugang wings that were special for this week and sides of the tom yum soup.  The mushrooms and broth were flavorful. Nice pieces of shrimp as well. I love this soup! ...

Our Faith

In a time when things are unknown, our faith and our church have helped preserve some normalcy for us.  We were blessed that through the closures, Our Lady of Mount Carmel would show Mass every morning and every Sunday online.   The first Mass after the church opened was the Vet's Club Memorial Day Mass.  It was so beautiful to be back in church.  To see people nd be able to pray together.  The little things mean so much right now.   Our next joint "normal" experience with church was the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.  While we did not have a normal festival we had an amazing Mass outside and the beautiful procession.  My husband carried out the statue of Mary as he does every year, the young boys stepped up to carry the statues through the streets given that so many older men were not available this year.  It was amazing to see those young men stepping in to the roles of their grandparents.   At this time in life there are few thing...
