Ancona Day 2- Wedding day for the lovely couple

Today was a blessed beautiful amazing day filled with love, family and friends.  This blog will never do justice to the beauty and love of what today represented.  But I will try.  I did not take that many pictures because we were so caught up in the moments of the day.

We started the day with breakfast and getting ready for Mass.

Breakfast at our hotel is fantastic.  You can have anything you can imagine- As you can see I went with hard boiled eggs, tomato, mozzarella, and a croissant.  I also had a cup of pineapple and water.  Ronnie had a pile of scrambled eggs.

The trek to the church then began.  We were picked up by Fabio- Fabrizio's dad and Companion Rosie.  And we were joined by the other Americans- Greg, Kelly, Christina, and Natalie's brother Nick.  Off to the church we went.  God bless Fabrizio's dad.  We arrived at the church on the hill and it was just breathtaking.  My pictures do not even come close to showing the beauty of this church and the delicate addition of the flowers.  Everyone in church looked fabulous, all woman had their shoulders covered.

Look how happy the beautiful couple is.  Fabrizio cannot wait to see his Bride and Natalie is just glowing.  Her dress was gorgeous!

After Mass they were driving away in a vintage Alfa Romeo- How adorable!

Natalie's father drove her up in the hill in the car.  When I say hill, I actually mean for the Americans out there a mountain.  It was STEEP!!!!

But before they drove away we all threw rice at them.  And they stood around to take pictures and greet all the guests.  Such amazing amazing people, I just cannot describe the graciousness of everyone in Italy.  We do not understand how to do weddings in American comparatively.

We then snuck onto a Terrace off the courtyard of the church for some pictures as well.

Now it was time for the cocktail hour at the Winery.  Ladies and gentlemen, this was a cocktail hour like you have never seen before.  The food was plentiful and so amazingly delicious.  There was sparkling rose and prosecco, a ginger mint refresher and a bitter orange refresher, still and sparkling water.  And then the food.
a full cheese bar with breads and spreads that were amazing.

another table filled with mini burgers, zucchini with hummus, tartar with avocado crema, farro and fagioli jars, corn bread muffins, and other things I am not even sure what they were, but delicious.

Another table with fresh cut prosciutto, roast beef, mac and cheese, spiedini of beef, chicken, pork belly, vegetables, sausages.

And a table of fritta!  I never even went to that table because I was waiting for dinner.  AMAZING cocktail hour.  And just look at the sweetheart table and the sweethearts driving in!

After cocktail hour it was off to a brief tour of the winery and dinner.

Dinner was beautiful and amazing.  Natalie danced with her father which is always so touching to me.  And then with Fabrizio.  Her Father did a toast in Italian and his father did a toast in English.  It was so sweet to see 2 cultures come together.

Dinner was fantastic.  I did not photograph all dishes, but here are a few......

After dinner everyone stood around talking and mingling before the cake cutting and moving over for the desserts and after dinner drinks.

The Italians learned to make smores- although they learned with saltine crackers.  I think they enjoyed them.  They had a hard time roasted the marshmallows at first, but they got the hang of it.

The fruit and dessert table was fantastic.  They had all kinds of fresh fruit, panna cotta, flavored crema.  The after dinner drinks were plentiful with various amaro's and sambuca and aperol a special espresso martini and plain espresso.

At the end of the night you could make your own bag of coumbits in various flavors and everyone got a bottle of wine to take home specially labelled by Fabrizio and Natalie.

Fabrizio's dad drove all the American's back to our various hotels God bless him.  Ronnie and I went for a little walk after the amazing food and wine for the evening.  A lovely end to a most lovely day for 2 beautiful people.  We felt amazing blessed to be a part of this day and to met the people we met in Ancona.  It is a place we will definitely visit again in the future.

Bologna Day3- day trip to Modena

We started off the day sort of late.  Decided to do a day trip to Modena, round trip was under 17 euros total for us both.  We walked to the train station which is literally like 5 minutes from our hotel grabbed a cappuccino water and apricot filled croissant and off we went.  We arrive in Modena less than a half hour later.   look at the pretty streets of Modena Another day another piazza! But we were in Modena and I was in search of balsamic...a tasting a something.  The first store I went in to had very, very high end balsamic you could do a tasting for a price and the cheapest bottle started at 60 Euro.  This was not our balsamic market.  This was a little above where we wanted to buy and we have tasted the really expensive stuff before.  But then we found a reasonable store.  Giuseppe Giusti offers free tastings of their balsamic at all different levels and their vermouth.  It was all fantastic.  We decided on some i...

YY Time with Y-town Friends

This new place is Asian town was a fantastic experience with some wonderful friends.  Ronnie and I got a call dear old friends John, Dave and Dana- from Youngstown and now living in Cleveland- to meet for lunch at a new place called YY Time.  This restaurant is a cool new concept in Asia Town.  You sit and order through a QR code.  Each seat has its own code.  They have street food, skewers, Asian soups, bubble teas and milks so many great choices.  We each ordered an then shared as we love to do.  I cannot wait to return!  Here are the great items we tried that day.   Salty crispy chicken and a fruit bubble tea Rice Noodle soup with braised brisket and one of the specialty crossing the bridge soups.  The noodle soup was amazing.  The flavor of all the broths were just amazing.  My husband and I split ours and It is definitely big enough to split.  And then we all tried a little bit of each others to just have a taste...

GIrls Trip- Alaska

I know know, this blog is all about the fun stuff I do with my husband, but this one blog post is going to be about an adventure I had with the one person I have known the longest in my life- my sister! The trip started with Angela texting one day asking if I wanted to see the Aurora Borealis....I thought sure why not.  And then we booked a trip and here we are. As we were planning I remembered an old friend from my semester at American lives in Fairbanks so I reached out to him for suggestions.  He offered some great ideas on places to go, things to do, and places to eat. Sadly we will not be able to see him and his wife, because they leave for vacation right after we got in town.   So the adventure for me started with a 7:50 text that my flight changed and a rerouting.  I left Cleveland at 1:40 pm and met up with my sister in Seattle at around 7 pacific time for a quick dinner before we parted ways for our flights to Fairbanks (different airlines).  ...
